The Mumbai Police had filed a First Information Report on October 6 and started investigations following a complaint filed by Nitin Deokar, an official of Hansa Research.
Republic TV boss Vikas Khanchandani has been captured by the Mumbai Police in the fake ratings scam – the 13th individual to be captured for the situation up until this point. The capture of the top chief comes not exactly seven days after the Supreme Court diverted down a supplication from ARG Outlier Media Private Limited, which claims the Republic Media network, seeking protection for the group and its employees.
“This petition is ambitious in nature. You want Maharashtra Police not to arrest any employee and transfer the cases to CBI. You better withdraw this,” Justice DY Chandrachud had told the gathering, which had blamed the Maharashtra Police for “harassing” the media house, it’s Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, and its employees.
Prior, the channel’s Head of Distribution, Ghanshyam Singh, was named in the 1,400-page charge sheet and two of the denounced demonstrated that they will become approvers for the situation. The court will accept an approach the issue.
The case was recorded in October after Nitin Deokar, an authority of Hansa Research, an office that set the appraisals meters, documented a protest charging the cycle was being controlled.
In the wake of examining the issue, the Mumbai Police said Republic TV – which professes to have the most elevated appraisals – was tweaking evaluations to get high advertising rates by bribing the households where the monitoring machines were set.
The police said the family units were being paid to keep certain channels on. In each house, individuals were paid ₹ 400 to ₹ 500 every month.
The chargesheet for the situation names 140 observers, including legal reviewers and individuals from BARC or Broadcast Audience Research Council, which surveys evaluations.
The channel had said the allegations involved feud by the Mumbai police following their conflict over the Sushant Singh Rajput case.
