Around 5,000 nurses of the Delhi’s AIIMS on Monday decided to go on an indefinite strike with immediate effect over redressal of their demands.
Around 5,000 nurses of Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Monday (December 14) chose to go on an uncertain strike with prompt impact over redressal of their requests, including those identified with the 6th Central Pay Commission.
As per Delhi AIIMS Nurse’s Union, the nation’s top clinical foundation is employing medical nurses from outside on an agreement premise. The strike was before planned to be seen from December 16 (Wednesday).
The sum total of what administrations have been hindered as the Delhi AIIMS Nurse’s Union made a major stride after AIIMS organization and health department denied their requests.
AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria stated, “They have 23 demands. Almost all the demands have been met by the AIIMS administration and government. I appeal all nurses and nursing officers not to go on strike at this time of the epidemic.”
The Union Minsitry of Health and Family Welfare has requested that the medical caretakers cancel strike or severe move will be made against them under Disaster Management Act. “The Ministry is open to placing the fresh demand before appropriate authorities for sympathetic consideration and therefore the AllMS Nurses Union may be requested to reconsider and withdraw call for any strike, especially during these trying times, due to the national priority of effectively tackling Covid-19 pandemic,” the Health Ministry said in an explanation.
IANS revealed that the nurses association of AIIMS guaranteed that the clinic organization has acquainted agreement terms with their business which constrained them to pre-empt their strike. It said that the decision has come as shock to the whole fraternity.
The medical nurses association guaranteed that in October 2019 they were guaranteed by the Union Health Minister that their compensation would be rebuilt according to the 6th Pay Commission, which is yet to be finished by the organization.
