French astronauts lure 100-image collage from Suez Canal is a hit on social media

An astronaut above the International Space Station (ISS) took the internet with a storm when he posted the iconic channel channel collage, taken from space.

Taking to Twitter, French astronaut Thomas Pesquet said the picture was made from 100 zoomed-in canal drawings captured from space.

The European Space Agency Astronaut (ESA) is currently completing six months on the International Space Ship (ISS) as part of the second mission called “Alpha”

Pesquet images made digitally feature two parallel canal waterways and five intersections. The picture also displays ‘once gave’, a cargo ship that blocked waterways for more than a week in March.

According to a blog post by the European Space Agency, the images were arrested on May 29, 2021, using the longest lens available above.

Canal Suez, man-made waterways, is one of the most widely used shipping lines in the world, carrying more than 12 percent of world trade based on volume. Canal connects the Mediterranean sea to the Red Sea.
