WASHINGTON: Many Indian talents are sought now to be interested in Canada in large quantities, far from the United States because of the outdated H-1B visa policy, immigration experts and policies have told parliamentarians to parliamentarians to us.
This is mainly because of the quota of per-countries about the issuance of a green-based green card or residency, the experts said on Tuesday, urging Congress to act quickly to prevent Indian talent from the United States from the United States.
Without action congress, total backlog for the third-based category for Indians will increase from the estimated 9.15,497 individuals today, for an estimated 21.95,795 individual by Fiscal 2030, Stuart Anderson’s National Executive Director.
“We must let that number sink: in a decade, more than 2 million people will wait in line for years or even decades for a job-based green card,” he handed over his testimony before the committee of the Justice-Subcommittee on immigration and citizenship.
Biased before the panel, Anderson said that foreign nationals were very skilled, including international students, choosing Canada above America.
“This has happened in response to how difficult it works in the United States in the status of H-1B or get a permanent residence, and the ease of international students and foreign nationals working in a temporary status and then get a permanent residence in Canada,” he said.
The number of international students from India registered in computer science and engineering at the US universities declined more than 25 percent between academic years 2016-17 and 2018-19, in accordance with US government data analysis by the National Foundation for American policy ( NFAP).
To put the importance of decreasing in context, international students represent around 75 percent of full-time graduate students at US universities in computer science, and in the 2016-17 academic year, two thirds of international students in graduates of levels in computer science at US universities comes from India.
At the same time fewer Indian students came to America, the number of Indian students who attended the Canadian universities rose from 76,075 in 2016 to 1,72,625 in 2018, an increase of 127 percent, according to the Canadian bureau for international education, he said.
