PM Modi on way to Rome for G20 Summit, first visit by an Indian PM in 12 years

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon reach Rome for the G20 Summit in what’s the first visit by an Indian PM in nearly 12 times. PM Modi will reach Rome around9.30 (IST) on Friday. 

 Indian minister to Italy, Neena Malhotra said, “ PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Rome, beginning hereafter, will be his first visit to the Italian capital after assuming office. It will also be the first visit by an Indian PM to Rome in nearly 12 times.” 

 Hours after reaching Rome, PM Modi will be visiting the Gandhi statue around3.30 pm (IST) and latterly hold a bilateral match with Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi at5.30 pm (IST). 

 Ahead of his Italy visit to attend the G20 Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that in Rome he’ll hold conversations on global profitable and health recovery from the epidemic. PM Modi will be visiting Rome and the Vatican City from October 29-31 and after trip to the UK. 

 n Glasgow, UK, PM Modi will talk on the need to exhaustively address climate change issues, including indifferent distribution of carbon space. 

“In Rome, I’ll attend the 16th G20 Leaders’Summit, where I’ll join other G20 leaders in conversations on global profitable and health recovery from the epidemic, sustainable development, and climate change,”PM Modi said. 

PM Modi embarked on his trip beforehand on Friday morning with the PMO twittering a picture of him boarding a aeroplane for Italy. 

 In his statement before leaving, he said the meeting will allow the G20 to take stock of the current global situation and exchange ideas on how the grouping can be an machine for strengthening profitable adaptability and structure back collectively and sustainably from the epidemic.
