Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday hit out at state BJP principal Bandi Sanjay for” pretending”the growers of the state by saying that they would land the paddy crop.
KCR said that the Centre has cleared that they aren’t going to buy paddy and the agrarian minister asked growers to conclude for other crops.
“ I directly visited the Union minister concerned and asked him to take the carried parboiled rice. He said he’ll take a decision and communicate to me, but till now I’ve entered no response. Telangana state formerly has around 5 lakh tons of paddy from last time. The Centre isn’t buying it,” news agency ANI quoted him as saying.
KCR also lashed out at Bandi Sanjay for asking the growers to grow commodity that isn’t being carried by the Centre. “ The Centre is saying we won’t land paddy and the state BJP is saying we will land it. Refrain from loose talk. We ’ll cut your ( state BJP leaders) speeches if you pass gratuitous commentary about us,” ANI quoted KCR as saying.
“ Sanjay said he’ll shoot me to jail. I dare him to touch me,” he added.
KCR farther criticised the BJP over growers’ issues and claimed his support to the growers’ movement against the Centre’s three ranch laws.
“ You (BJP) are killing growers by running buses on them. A BJP CM asks people to beat growers to death,” he said.
“ We’ll support the growers who are protesting against three ranch laws. We’ve the responsibility to save the growers. The opposition is playing cheap politics. They’re playing with the sentiments of the growers,” he added.
KCR also demanded that the Centre withdraw the cess levied on petrol and diesel. “ Centre has prevaricated on petrol and diesel prices. Crude canvas price was 105 US bones in 2014 and now it’s 83 US bones. BJP prevaricated to public saying that prices of petrol and diesel have increased abroad,” he said.
