Head of Pakistani Tehreek e-Insaaf (PTI) Imran Khan said on Monday proposed the name of the former Head of Gulzar Pakistan Ahmed’s head for the Prime Minister of the Caregiver.
Gulzar is part of the five judges who disqualify former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the case of Panama Papers. His name was nominated at the PTI core committee meeting chaired by Imran.
“I proposed the name of Justice (Retd) Gulzar Ahmed, a former Chair of the Head of Pakistan, to be considered for the appointment as the Prime Minister of the Caregiver,” read the letter sent by Imran to the President.
Gulzar’s nomination took part in Pakistani President Arif Alvi’s letter to Imran and opposition leader in the National Assembly (NA) Shehbaz Sharif, looking for advice on the removal of the Prime Minister of the Caregiver. In other developments, leaflets issued by the President’s Office read that Imran Khan would continue as the prime minister, although not told as the Chief Executive, until the appointment of a parental carer
In terms of Imran and Shehbaz failed to reach consensus on behalf within three days, each will send two names to the eight member of the Parliament Committee formed by the NA speaker. The committee will consist of members of the NA who came out, or those from the Senate, or both, with the same representation of the treasury and opposition.
Shehbaz, however, stated that he would not take part in the process and call it “illegal”. He said that the President and Prime Minister had violated the law and questioned how they could approach the opposition.
The president has dissolved the Assembly regarding the advice of Imran shortly after the representative of the Qasim Suri speaker canceled the no confidence of the Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, Pakistani National Security Advisor Moeed Yusuf resigned on Monday in the midst of the ongoing political and constitutional crisis in the country prone to coup. “Today, I left very satisfied and satisfied, most importantly because I knew that the NSA and NSD office was a vibrant institution with an extraordinary team that would continue to make Pakistan proud,” he tweeted.
