“I Too Sometimes Long For Joy…”: Finnish PM After Party Pics Criticism

The Finnish Prime Minister on Wednesday gave a strong defense for his work records and their rights of personal life after the criticism triggered by the 36 -year -old party video.
“I am human. And I also sometimes miss joy, bright and pleasant in the middle of this dark cloud,” said Sanna Marin when she struggled to hold back tears at the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Lahti City, northern Helsinki.

“This is personal, excitement, and this is alive,” he said. “But I haven’t spent one working day.”

Marin said last week “quite difficult”.

“I want to believe that people will see what we do at work than what we do at our free time,” he said.

A video leaked last week – which caused headlines around the world – showing Marin dancing and partying with a group of friends and celebrities.

The dance in the video has been criticized by several people as inappropriate behavior for a prime minister, while others have maintained their rights to enjoy personal events with friends.

Some also interpret the comments heard in the video refer to narcotics, something that is very debated on social media and is highly rejected by the Prime Minister.

In an effort to clear suspicion, he conducted a drug test on Friday and was then tested negatively.

On Tuesday, Marin was forced to apologize for the photos taken at his residence in July about two kissing women, raised their peak to their naked torso and cover their breasts with a sign that read “Finland”.

This picture was first published on the Tiktok account by former contestant Miss Finland and social media influencers, which appeared in the photo.

The Marin Party supported him during the video controversy but local media reported a new picture this week has led to an increase in criticism in social democrats.

“Sanna Marin is very popular, but there is a greater frustration in a party at a recurring scandal,” wrote the Helsingin Sanomat newspaper on Tuesday, after speaking with members of the SDP parliament.
