The Indian High Commission in London today strongly condemned the violence committed against the Indian community in Leicester England. In his statement, the Indian High Commission greatly protested violence and damaged Hindu temples in Leicester. “We have greatly discussed this issue with the British authority and have sought immediate action against those involved in this attack. We ask the authorities to provide protection to the affected people,” said a statement from the Indian High Commission.
The Indian High Commission also urged the authorities to provide protection to those affected.
Fifteen people have so far been arrested for involvement in violence, said Leicestershire police in a statement.
Leicester police said they were investigating flag problems outside of religious places in Melton Road being pulled down.
Some videos on social media also show the protests of Hindu groups that maintain the slogan “Jai Shree Ram”. The groups were accused by the other side of the destroyer of the traits possessed by Muslims in Leicester.
Leicester police have called for calm.
The recent violent incident followed various videos and reports that have been circulating on social media, about clashes between Hindu and Muslim groups in the city since fans of clashes after the Indian-Pakistan Asian Cup cricket match played in Dubai on August 28.
LeicesterShire police said his operations in the East Leicester area affected by the disorder continued to prevent further disturbances, with 15 people arrested.
“The impact of this disturbance on our local community is unacceptable,” said the police statement.
“We will not tolerate violence, chaos, or intimidation in Leicester, and we continue to call for calm and dialogue. The police operation and our investigation continue with accuracy and scale,” he added.
The troops said a number of neighboring police forces, including the installed police unit, had been deployed to be controlled. The power of dispersal and stop and search is also used to restore calm.
“Officers became aware of a group of young men gathered on Sunday afternoon in the North Edington area. Officers spoke to them and took steps, including placing a temporary police rope, to minimize damage and disturbance to the community,” the police said.
