AAP MLA Atishi said the Delhi government has a covaxin dose for the 18-45 category for six days and the covishield vaccine for 11 days.
The capital on Wednesday received fresh stock from the Covid-19 vaccine for those aged 18-45 years, said Atishi, MLA AAM AADMI party from the Kalkaji, because the city administration opened back bookings on the co-win portal for all central inoculation a day after closing more from half of them due to lack of doses.
Presenting the vaccination bulletin that day, Atishi said Delhi was in a comfortable position in terms of vaccine stock. He said the Delhi government had a covaxin dose for the category of 18-45 for six days and the covishield vaccine for 11 days. The covaxin dose for category 45 + will last for seven days, while Covishield shares are sufficient for 42 days.
On Tuesday, almost half of the vaccination center for the age group 18-45 close to the desire of the vaccine. As on Wednesday, Delhi has 161 operational centers for categories 18-45 and 581 for those aged 45 years and over.
“We have received 62,160 covaxin doses and 173,340 doses of covishield. Until now, we have received a total of 1.27 million doses for young adults … Starting today (Wednesday), slots are available on the co-win portal for the age group 18- 45 years, “he said.
Atishi also said that the Delhi government could not run its vaccination drive at the speed planned due to lack of doses. “The only way to get rid of hesitation vaccines is to vaccinate the young man. When young people go to get vaccinations, they will also bring their family members,” he said.
Senior government officials said they hoped that inventory would stabilize as the central government began to provide free doses to all states and the United States since June 21. “However, there is not much clarity. We have not received an indication when we will receive a free dose for category 18-45 and in what amount,” said a state government official who asked not to be named.
This center has provided a free vaccine for all countries to autoculate those aged 45 years and over, while private hospitals offer paid vaccines for all groups.
